Be Flexible
Wewak is right on the coast of PNG and as you saw in the other photos our view of the coast from up here on the hill is impressive. Unfortunately we have to look at that all day long as we work - terrible.
As Shane mentioned, we were visited by the contractor whose license we must work under, as well as the electrical inspector we will have to please. As it turns out a permit must be applied for and secured to do the work. It required an emergency session of creating some CAD drawings that outline our proposed scope of work. The scope has changed because he did not want to have two points of attachment here at the compound as we originally planned on doing. We had to re-think our plan and figure out if we have enough materials here to make his directive happen. After much discussion among ourselves and with him, we reached an amicable agreement and it looks like we can proceed with no problems. We may not have a permit before we leave here, but the work will be satisfactorily done, we are convinced. So I spent the rest of the afternoon drawing and redrawing and finally gave the files to Kelly here so that he can print them out for the contractor to pick up this morning. Please pray that all of this will be done and that everything will be fine. The Lord knew of these plan changes before we left the USA, so we are thankful He is in control. Sometimes we feel helpless when we feel things are beyond our control and we are trusting Him more all the time.It is Wednesday morning and we are waiting out a several hour rainfall that also plays havoc on our plans...
