The Final Week begins

This morning a plane took Tom, Linda, Mike, and Karen to Goroka for the Solar Project that is being worked on there. Mike is already there and has very likely gotten a good bit of preliminary work done in preparation for the team to come to help finish it. Hopefully the team there will be able to post their progress.

Dave and I wrapped up a few loose ends today. The remaining staff houses are now on new meters and permanently connected to the service we have installed. I also installed an outlet and two lights and a switch in the generator building.

While working on the generator you can look down the hill to the airport. My mind was wandering a bit as Shane and Gerard are at this time on their way to Atlanta after spending a second night in Brisbane because of their plane being late in from Los Angeles. We have not heard from them but assume they are en route to home.

Tomorrow we will hook up a transfer switch to a generator for MAF Aviation. A few evenings this week we have been invited out to some of the staff homes and Friends In Action. Yesterday, Mike and Ruth from FIA met us at lunch and we had a good time of fellowship with them. This morning it was hard for those leaving for Goroka to say goodbye to the fine folks here at NTM. We have gotten to know Tim and Laurel very well and they are preparing to go back into the interior to minister after having been away from the village for six years. It will definitely be a challenge for them, but a good number of men from the base here are going along in to help get their home set up. It would have been great for us to have participated in that, but time won't allow it.
