The first three of us have successfully made it to the airport in Port Moresby and we are in the Airport Cafe, having had our morning coffee. The trip over the highlands of PNG is impressive and it appears that there could well be mountain peaks that have never seen humans. The peaks are jagged and some appeared to be higher than we were flying, but they were definitely jutting through the clouds. We have seen the planes coming and going from the airport each day and this morning as we flew out we flew directly over the NTM compound we worked on for the past weeks.
We got to see the winding Sepik River on our way toward the highlands mentioned above.
The workers in the Airport Cafe are getting into the Christmas spirit, putting up decorations. The seasons they are changing.
Once we got here we received word from Tom that the Goroka Team is in a flight delay. The fun is already beginning. Based on their projected time of departure, they should get here in time to make the flight to Brisbane with us, but they will not have a lot of time to spare. Please pray that the flight will leave on the time indicated and that they can have enough time to retrieve their luggage and get to the International Terminal in time to check in for the next flight. We will keep you posted, perhaps later this evenin g from Brisbane.
