Today was our last day in Goroka and it was jammed full of experiences. Linda and Karen spent the day saying good bye to many friends from the past and Mike, Michael and I (Tom) took off for a 2 hour drive south to the Ukarumpa mission station for SIL / Wycliffe Bible Translators.
It was a great meeting listening to Michael Fisher networking with John and Lauren from SIL, about all the latest solar equipment and how to adapt it to the rugged environment of PNG and "non techy" missionaries.
Two hours on the Goroka Highlands highway makes you feel like you had a beating. It is said to be the 4th worst highway in the world. (It might have been the 4th most dangerous), not sure but it was bad and listening to our driver describe what would happen to us if we broke down, just made it that much worse. Thank you for your prayers.

Highlands is VERY good and between us taking some home and missionaries
asking us to take some back "if we have room" we are packed out.
We want to thank you as well for praying us through these past three weeks. God has led us every step of the way as we have seen what seemed like progress stoppers appear and after putting out the list of request, one after another we saw prayers answered and we were able to move forward never missing a moments progress.
It would take pages to recap all that has been accomplished in the three weeks our teams have been here. Some of us have flown with three different mission organizations besides the various commercial flights.
We will be needing lineman and electricians as well as support personnel to return to PNG next
April / May to work at the Nazarene Hospital in Mt. Hagan. Please contact us if you are interested. The time will pass quickly and we will be starting the process of purchasing airline tickets by the end of the year.
The next post will be while we are all traveling home and we would really like to make that trip without any delays.
