This being our last full day in PNG, we were privileged to spend our dinner time this evening with Tim & Laurel. They will be heading out to the April river next week to resume working with the tribal group they were with six years ago. It was great to get to know many of the missionary couples here at the Wewak base, but especially Tim & Laurel. Their hospitality to us has been exceptional and their love for the work they do for the Lord is very encouraging. A man from their tribe has been in the Haus Sik (hospital) for a number of weeks due to a spinal injury suffered in a fall. He is showing much improvement and will likely return to the village some time after Tim and Laurel are there. Mike and Kelly and their wives will be joining them in the village for about five days and this will be an encouragement to them as well. We look forward to hearing how things are going out there in the months ahead.
In a few short hours Tim will be taking the three of us to the airport. We will need to be there around 4:00 AM for a 6:10 AM flight to Port Moresby and the beginning of our journey home. The team that is at Goroka will also be meeting us in Port Moresby and we will be all together all the way to Los Angeles, where we will be going separate ways.
I will post about our progress if we have the opportunity. Thank you for following along with us. The Lord has been good to all of us and much has been accomplished for His Glory. Thanks for your prayers, thoughts, and concerns.
Gary for the Team
